Social Networking by Human Resources Departments
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has written a report on Social Networking by Human Resources Departments. The full title of the report is "SHRM Research Spotlight: Social Networking Websites and Staffing". Click on the title to read the 2 page report. The "key finding" is that "more than one-half (56%) of the organizations currently use social networking websites when recruiting potential job candidates". Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter are the most used social sites. The most popular use of the social networking sites is "to recruit passive job candidates who might not otherwise apply or be contacted by the organization".
