Career Information Center Program, Tuesday October 25, 2011, 10am-noon

The Monmouth County Library Career Information Center will present a program on Using Business Directories to Find Potential Employers In The Hidden Job Market. The program will be at the Eastern Branch Library at 1001 Rt 35, Shrewsbury, NJ. The Time will be 10am to Noon on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Information on the program can be obtained by calling 866-941-8188.

The "Hidden Job Market" refers to the large percentage (75%) of jobs that are available but not listed on online job listings. Companies may be looking for employees through personnel agencies, employee recommendations, referral programs, association membership lists, and resume banks.

The use of the following business directories will be demonstrated: the National Employment Matrix, Corfacts Online, "Employer Locator" from CareerInfoNet, Thomas' Register and ReferenceUSA.

Introduction to Career Transitions, Sept 19th. 2011

The New Jersey State Library is making Career Transitions available to all libraries in New Jersey. Career Transitions is an online website to assist individuals in job-hunting, resume writing, and career choice. An introduction to Career Transitions will be given at the Monmouth County Library on Route 35 in Shrewsbury on Monday, September 19th from 10am to noon.

Monmouth County Job Fair Sept 22nd 2011

There will be a Job Fair At Brookdale Community College on Thursday September 22nd, 2011 from 4pm to 7pm. Brookdale is located on Newman Springs Rd in Lincroft, 1 mile west of Parkway Exit 109.
